Robbery victims say Detroit's 'fake' cops are actual officers
Last week, people in Detroit reported being robbed by police impersonators. This week, it tus out those fake cops maybe weren't so fake. Two senior and highly decorated officers have been arrested amid allegations that they were the so-called fake cops in an incident at a Citgo gas station on the city's east side.
Police working the case recognized them from a bystander's photos, and one of the alleged victims — who claims to have been detained, pistol whipped and robbed — reportedly identified one of the sergeants in a lineup. The lawyer for one of the cops said there's more to the case than meets the eye and that fears the pair were "rogue cops" were unfounded. [Source]
