Michigan Teacher Heidi Lewis Accused of Having Sex with Students
BAY CITY, Mich. - A 41-year-old woman accused of having sexual relationships with male students she taught while serving as a substitute teacher at Bay City Central High School has been charged.
Heidi Lewis of Midland was arraigned Wednesday on six counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Bay County Assistant Prosecutor Jordan E. Case said the incidents began in June 2010 and happened off school property.
Lewis was arrested Dec. 28 after a female student tipped off school officials.
Lewis remains free on $100,000 bond. She is prohibited from having unsupervised contact with anyone younger than 18. Her 17-year-old son is exempt.
Lewis' attoey, Richard Lee Jr., tells The Bay City Times that his client plans to waive her preliminary exam.
