MEDFORD, Mass. -- Medford police were called to the scene of a stabbing on Exchange Avenue late Sunday.

They found a man stabbed to death about 10:30 p.m. in front of 108 Exchange Ave. in what appeared to have been a domestic dispute, police said.

Investigators said the victim's wife went after her husband with a knife and the couple's two young girls, both under the age of 5, were at home at the time.

"He had no shirt on, no shirt, nothing, like bare skin. Then I can just see her screaming, she's like, 'Don't do this to me. Don't do this. Get up. Get up,'" said neighbor Shakeeda Price.

He was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The victim was identified as Troy Burston, 34, of Medford, the Middlesex District Attoey's Office said.

Officers arrested a suspect at the same house at the Medford Housing Authority complex, police said. She was identified as Shawntina Burston, 39, of Medford, the victim's wife.

Neighbors said the couple had fought before.

"We're always hearing fighting, noise. You can hear it clearly. You can hear it through the walls, constant. Five in the moing, I mean it was just always, always," said neighbor Melissa Paz.

“This is another troubling incident of domestic violence tued fatal,” District Attoey Gerry Leone said. “We allege that the victim was fatally stabbed by his wife during an argument, sadly leaving two young children behind.”

"They've lost a mother and a father now. You know? You don't want to see that happen to anybody," said neighbor Christina Hannaford.

The defendant was arraigned Monday in Somerville District Court and charged with murder, prosecutors said. The two children were staying with their grandmother.
