Marine Corps Harrier jet crashes into home in Imperial, California
A US Marine Corps Harrier jet has crashed into a home in Southe Califoia, bursting into flames.
Marine Corps Air Station Miramar confirmed to KYMA TV the jet had come from their nearby base at Yuma.
Residents told of hearing a “loud boom” before seeing the plane crash into the house and burst into flames.
The crash happened at Cross Rd and Fonzie Avenue in Imperial, about 90 minutes west of San Diego, near the US-Mexico border.

It is not known at this stage whether anyone was in the house at the time of the crash or if there are any civilian injuries.
The pilot ejected from the cockpit and was taken to hospital for evalution.
Officials will investigate the cause of the crash.
It is the second such incident in a month for jets out of the Yuma base. In May a jet crashed on tribal land near Phoenix, Arizona. The pilot in that crash was able to eject and suffered minor injuries.
