Last House Standing: Miracle house spared amid 5,000 acres of Utah fire devastation
A raging wildfire that forced the evacuation of 500 homes and gutted 5,000 acres of land incredibly spared an Alpine, Utah, residence sitting in a now-charred stretch of land.
The elevated home, surrounded by trees, emerged unscathed as the fast-moving fire spread around its perimeter Tuesday.
Two other homes sustained damage and a ba was bued down in the blaze that started Tuesday afteoon in Lambert Park, according to the Salt Lake City Tribune.
A search-and-rescue team also plucked 32 hikers from the fiery region as the blaze began raging.

Authorities believe the fire was likely ignited by a piece of construction equipment. Sparks from the trackhoe hitting a rock, or perhaps heat from the machinery, torched the surrounding parched grass to start the blaze
