Juggalos arrested for causing disturbance
MANCHESTER, NH - New Hampshire police have arrested four people in Manchester wearing face paint and "Insane Clown Posse" band T-shirts after some neighborhood children and mall security officers reported they were causing a disturbance.
Fans of the Insane Clown Posse are commonly known as Juggalos.
Police say after chasing and yelling at the children Thursday night, one member of the group removed a handgun from his waistband and fired a shot into the air. Then the four drove off together.
Security at the Mall of New Hampshire described a similar group causing a disturbance a short time later. They were removed from the mall. Mall security gave police a license plate number.
Police found the four and charged them with two counts of riot. They range in age from 17 to 21.
Police Release:
On 06-30-11 at about 6:40 PM, Manchester Police responded to the area of 297 Central for a report of shots fired. On arrival, Ofc. Barter met with about a dozen children who reported being chased by a group of people wearing face paint and "Insane Clown Posse" t-shirts. An adult witness also reported to police that she had seen those four people chasing the kids around the neighborhood in an apparent effort to scare them.
After chasing and yelling at the kids, the group began to enter a small white car parked nearby. Before one of the suspects entered the car, he removed a silver handgun from his waistband and fired a single shot into the air. The foursome then left the area in the small white vehicle.
Officer Barter did locate a 9mm shell casing from the area where the shot was reportedly fired. A short time later, security at the mall of New Hampshire called to report a group of people causing a disturbance in the food court area. The description of four people was similar in that there was reportedly one female and three males all wearing face paint and causing a disturbance inside the mall. They were removed from the mall and were last seen leaving the area in a small white vehicle. Mall security was able to provide police with a plate number on the car.
Ofc. Jered Maguire spotted the suspect vehicle, occupied by four individuals wearing face paint, going north on S Willow street. He stopped the vehicle and detained the four occupants without incident in the area of Vinton Street and S. Lincoln Street. They were identified as:
- Adam Leard
- Chelsea Leard
- Zachary Lyle
- William Chapdelainm-Comptois
Based on further investigation, all four parties were arrested and charged with two counts of Riot. Adam and Chelsea Leard were additionally a charged with Minor in Possession of Alcohol. Beer and a 9mm pistol designed to fire blanks were recovered form the vehicle. The investigation revealed that Adam Leard had fired a blank round from the 9mm semi-auto pistol into the air during the Central Street incident.
