Jean-Sun Hannah Ahn: Beauty queen Miss Seattle criticises city Twitter

When it comes to special talents, diplomacy isn't one of this beauty queen's strongest.

Jean-Sun Hannah Ahn, 22, was crowned Miss Seattle on Saturday but unfortunately her new-found celebrity led to some unsavoury comments about her home town being dug up from her Twitter account.

The student, who went to Arizona State University and was also Miss Phoenix, tweeted in December: 'Ew, I seriously am hating Seattle right now.'

Another post added: 'Ugh can't stand cold rainy Seattle and the annoying people.'

However Miss Ahn said she was just complaining about the weather like any Seattle native and didn't mean that people in the city were annoying.

She told local radio station KIRO-FM that she made the cutting remarks while in a transition period three months ago and was missing friends and the Arizona sunshine.

She told Fox: 'I was somewhat lonely and I think, that particular day, it was raining and cold. I was not in the right mindset, and I did not think before I acted.'
