Indiana Woman Shelby Schrecengost Accused Of Beating Toddler, Elderly Woman

INDIANA COUNTY, Pa. -- State police in Indiana County said they are searching for a woman accused of beating a toddler and an elderly on Monday.

Police said Shelby Schrecengost, 37, of Indiana, grabbed a 2-year-old girl by the head and shook her violently at a Sheetz gas station.

According to the police report, Schrecengost swatted the girl in the head numerous times with her hands at the the station near the intersection of Warren and Indian Springs roads in White Township.

Police said Schrecengost then drove to a nearby Big Lots where she punched her 71-year-old passenger in the face, then ran away on foot.

Children and Youth Services were contacted and said the child did not appear to be injured. She was taken to a local hospital to be examined as a precaution.

The 71-year-old received minor injuries.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Schrecengost. She is facing endangering the welfare of a child charges.
