High schooler Mike Stone’s plan to bring porn star to prom scuttled by officials
A plan for a dream date to prom ended with a trip to the principal's office for one heartbroken Minnesota high school student.
Mike Stone, 18, who began a successful Twitter campaign earlier this month to get a po star to accompany him to the dance was told on Wednesday he could not bring his chosen lady on school grounds, according to reports.
Stone received the news from his principal, who advised him on Tuesday to pick another date.
"He was saying that it's not a good thing to do that," Stone told the Daily Dot. "I said, 'I was just doing it to see what actually happened.’"
Megan Piper, the adult film star who said yes on the condition that Stone pay for her air fare, was equally disappointed.
"I'm not thrilled; I kind of wanted to go, but I understand," Piper told the Huffington Post, adding she had wanted to meet Stone's parents, receive a corsage and pose for prom photos.
Up for it: Megan will have to travel from her home in Los Angeles to Minnesota if Mike can afford her retu plane ticket
But as the news stories about the stunt went viral, the 18-year-old began to embrace his newfound fame — and his Twitter followers have attempted to start a campaign to allow Piper to go to the dance.
On Wednesday, the Twitter hashtag #Po4Prom was trending in Minnesota.
"#Po4prom is trending for all the right reason (sic)," one Twitter follower wrote.
District officials said in a statement that Piper's presence at the school would violate school policies pertaining to visitors.
"I know and the school won't let her in the dance they said if she comes they arrest her," Stone tweeted.
His parents, Stone told the Daily Dot, are furious.
"She's really mad about it," Stone said, after talking with his mother. "She's saying I embarrassed them now."
