Florida woman Cynthia Anderson who drowned puppy at airport gets probation
Cynthia Anderson

A woman from Edgewater, Fla., who drowned a puppy at a Nebraska airport was sentenced to two years’ probation Thursday, CBS News reports.

Cynthia Anderson, 57, was arrested and charged with cruelty to animals after drowning a 3-week-old Doberman puppy in the bathroom of Central Nebraska Regional Airport.

Anderson was not allowed to board her flight on January 23rd because the puppy was too young and not properly contained, CBS News reports.

Authorities say she was seen entering a restroom and a woman later found the puppy dead in the toilet.

Anderson entered her plea for no contest to a charge of cruel neglect of animals in May. At the hearing on Thursday, she apologized and asked for mercy and probation.

Along with probation she also cannot own or be around animals for five years, according to CBS News.
