If you live in Dadeville, Alabama, you might need to start cleaning out your closet.

According to the Alexander City Outlook, the City Council last month proposed an ordinance that would ban saggy pants. But that's not the only clothing item under fire: During the Sept. 8 meeting, one council member suggested adding miniskirts and short shorts to the list.

"My conce is (that the ordinance) should be for everybody," Councilwoman Stephanie Kelley said. "I think for the girls, with these shorts up so high looking like undergarments and dresses so short, I don't want us to be showing favoritism."

Councilman Frank Goodman, who first proposed the saggy pants ban, said he wants to promote respectful behavior.

"If you come to my house, you are going to pull (your pants) up before you get on my property, much less in my door," Goodman said. "I prayed about this. I know that God would not go around with pants down."

City Attoey Robin Reynolds plans to prepare the ordinance for the council's next meeting later this month.
