Fall River man Walter Korzeniowski charged with robbing woman outside Sovereign Bank
FALL RIVER — Police on Thursday arrested a Fall River man who is accused of robbing a 43-year-old woman as she exited the Sovereign Bank, 141 N. Main St., on July 27, according to Fall River Police Lt. Roger LaFleur.
Detective Sergeant Thomas Mauretti and Detective Brian Cordeiro arrested Walter Korzeniowski, 29, of 189 Franklin St. Korzeniowski was charged with unarmed assault with intent to rob.
The 43-year-old victim told police she was leaving the bank when the suspect approached her and demanded she give him money. The woman attempted to flee, but the suspect grabbed her arm, and both people fell to the ground. The suspect was able to grab money from the victim and flee.
LaFleur said detectives built a case against Korzeniowski after receiving a tip from a citizen who viewed the suspect’s photo in The Herald News.
