A suspected drunk driver told police to arrest her dog after she was involved in a hit and run crash.

Christina Lamoreaux, 33, is alleged to have crashed her car in to another vehicle outside her home in Wildwood, Califoia before leaving the scene.

She was arrested and admitted what had happened claiming she left because she did not want to pay for the damage.

Bizarrely she then blamed her dog for the crash but could not explain to officers why the animal was to blame.

Police officers said she smelled of alcohol while she was being interviewed.

Officer Matthew Reynolds said: ‘She told me I should arrest her dog.’

She was charged with drink driving, resisting arrest, and leaving the scene of an accident.

Last month, Lamoreaux posted a picture of her dog on Facebook with the caption: ‘The best road trippin friend… No backseat driving and no comments/complaints on the music choices.’
