Cops: Ohio Man James Tapke bound daughter, locked her in dog cage
An Ohio man was in court Friday after authorities say he tied up his daughter with duct tape and stuck her in a dog cage, then threatened to electrify it.
James Tapke, 41, has been charged with child endangering and is being held on $50,000 bond. His attoey says the incident was a joke that got out of hand.
Police say Tapke wrapped duct tape around the girl's hands and feet, then shut her in a large dog cage on Jan. 10 as punishment. According to CNN, an affidavit states that he dropped small amounts of water on her face.
Police say her 13-year-old brother let her out after about 20 minutes, but according to the affidavit, the girl then poured water on her father to "get back at him," prompting him to tape her back up and put her in the cage.

Tapke allegedly then put an electrical jumper pack outside the cage, and said several times that he could electrify the cage.
According to CNN, Tapke and the girl's brother took pictures of the girl in the cage and the boy eventually posted them on Facebook. The photos have since been taken down.
Last month, Chicago father Andre Curry allegedly wrapped his 2-year-old daughter's hands, feet and mouth with painter's tape and posted photos of the bound child on Facebook. Curry faces charges of aggravated domestic battery and unlawful restraint and is scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 26.
