Cops: Connecticut mom Kelsey James left 2-year-old in car while she went to bar
A Connecticut mom is facing charges, after police say she went out drinking and left her 2-year-old daughter alone in a car.
Police say the woman, 22-year-old Kelsey James, was so drunk she ended up in the hospital Friday night.
They say the staff at City Sports Grille in Bristol called police when she passed out at the bar.
Officers say hours later, James woke up at the hospital and asked where her daughter was. Police found the toddler in James' locked car in the parking lot, asleep in her car seat.
Officers say the child is unharmed. James is charged with risking injury to a minor and leaving an unsupervised child in a vehicle. Connecticut's child welfare agency is investigating.
