Cobra captured from hallway of Houston high rise

Residents of a Texas luxury apartment building were horrified Saturday to find a cobra slithering its way through the hallway. The terrorized Houston apartment dwellers likened their chance meeting with the venomous creature to something out of Indiana Jo

People who live in a Houston high rise are breathing a little easier after police were able to remove a cobra on the loose in the building.

KHOU reports residents discovered the snake slithering through the hallways of the Rice lofts over the weekend.

Resident Ethan Shear told KHOU, "I tu the coer I hear a guy scream 'watch out,' and there's a cobra, and I just back up," said Shear. "I may have let out an expletive or two."

Police were eventually called in and after a few hours, they were able to use a broom to gain control of the serpent long enough to stuff it in a bag. The snake was then tued over to Animal Control.

It's unclear who owns the snake or where it came from.

There were no injuries reported.
