Cheers, jeers online after South Carolina House OKs removing Confederate flag
The South Carolina House of Representatives early Thursday approved a bill removing the Confederate flag from the Capitol grounds, just weeks after nine people – including a state senator – were killed at a historically black church in Charleston.
South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley issued the following statement on Facebook:
Today, as the Senate did before them, the House of Representatives has served the State of South Carolina and her people... Posted by Nikki Haley on Wednesday, July 8, 2015
