She was reported missing from her Long Beach home, 190 kilometres away, after a shooting that wounded her mother, father and uncle around 6pm on Saturday evening .

All the shooting victims are expected to survive their injuries. The mother and uncle remain hospitalised in critical condition but the father has been released.

Police believe an adult male is responsible for the abduction but his relationship to the victims and motives are not known. “This is a horrific crime,” Lieutenant Lloyd Cox of the Long Beach police department told NBC. “The family is devastated.”

“Somebody comes into this house, shoots three adults, flees with an infant who then later is found dead in San Diego,” Lieutenant Cox said.
