Baltimore Man Ronald Johnson Charged In Marine's Slaying
BALTIMORE -- A man has been arrested in the fatal July shooting of a United States Marine inside a Baltimore bar.
Ronald Johnson, 18, was taken into custody Tuesday moing, according to Baltimore City Police Department Detective Kevin Brown.
He faces murder charges in the July 2 slaying of Marine Sgt. Chase Love.
Baltimore City police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told WBAL-TV 11 News in July that the 26-year-old New Orleans native was shot in the chest on the dance floor inside the Queens Hookah Bar in the 200 block of East Baltimore Street. The incident occurred at about 3:15 a.m.
Love died of Shock Trauma.
Guglielmi said Love had been celebrating his deployment to Afghanistan. The club is near a collection of downtown strip joints known as The Block.
Police said Johnson was taken into custody without incident.
