Baby boy dies after being shot in NY

A ONE-YEAR-OLD boy has died after being shot in the head in New York.

Police say Antiq Hennis was being pushed in a stroller by his mother and father while crossing a street in Brooklyn's Brownsville neighbourhood at about 7:20pm local time on Sunday when the shooting occurred. They say multiple shots were fired.

Authorities say the child was rushed to hospital with a gunshot wound to the left side of his face but did not survive.

Police have not made any arrests.
