Alabama teacher Joanne Bolser suspended for handing out racist math quiz to 8th graders
An Alabama middle school teacher has been suspended after handing out a 10-question maths quiz to her eighth grade class students filled with questions referencing drugs, violence and prostitution.
Joanne Bolser was suspended from Bus Middle School, after one of her language art students took a picture of the quiz and sent it to his mom.
One of the questions in the quiz, known as the ‘LA Math Proficiency Test’, refers to a guy called Tyrone, who ‘knocked up four girls in the gang’.
The question says ‘there are 20 girls in his gang’ so ‘what is the exact percentage of girls Tyrone knocked up.’
The quiz also references ‘Ramon’ and his ‘drive-by shootings’, Desmond and his stolen cars, and Dwayne and his ‘3 ho’s’.
Another question asks: ‘If the price is $85 per trick, how many tricks per day must each ho tu to support Dwayne’s $800 per day crack habit?’

The student’s mother, Eria Hall, who saw the picture of the test last Friday said she couldn’t believe it and immediately reported it on Tuesday, according to Local15.
A spokeswoman for the district said: ‘We regret this happened. We have 7,500 employees at Mobile Public Schools and we overwhelmingly have excellent teachers.’
‘This is a shame that it’s taking away from their work.’
Bolser, who was suspended just a day before the last day of the school year, will have a hearing and has the ability to appeal.
