African-Americans leave Wild Wing Café after white customer complains
Wild Wing Cafe allegedly asked African-American customers to leave

When Michael Brown wanted to have a going-away dinner for his cousin, the Charleston, S.C., man planned an afteoon at Wild Wing Café. Their group of 25 people had been waiting for a table for over two hours when a restaurant staffer told Brown that she was having a hard time seating them because one of their customers "felt threatened." (Brown and his group are all African-American; the customer who complained reportedly was white.) "[It] totally alarmed all of us because we're sitting there peaceably for two hours," Brown said. "Obviously, if we were causing any conflict, we would have been ejected hours before."

Brown shared his story on Wild Wing's Facebook page and was later contacted by their chief marketing officer who, after a long chat, offered him a free meal. "This is not a situation where you can just give us a free meal and everything is OK," Brown said. "Because it's deeper than that." [Source]
