10-year-old girl Kiera Larsen dies saving two children from runaway SUV
A 10-year-old girl in Califoia was killed while saving two other children from a runaway SUV Monday night.
According to KGTV, Kiera Larsen and two other children were playing in the yard when a Mercedes-Benz SUV began rolling in reverse down a sloping driveway off Olde Highway 80 just after 5 p.m.
Kiera pushed the two younger children out of the way, but the SUV hit her, pushing her into a fence.
The girl was rushed to Sharp Grossmont Hospital, where she later died.
"She saved both my daughters lives, my two kids, and both could have been gone in an instant. She stepped in and did what she knows and that's to protect those around her," said Alyssa Jenkins.
Jenkins called the fourth grader a hero for her actions.
A GoFundMe account has been set to help Kiera's family with funeral expenses.
