Officers reportedly found at least two pellets near a news van that was also shot at.
KABC reported that a San Beardino Sheriff’s Department helicopter was able to locate a house that was possibly involved in the incident.
Police officers entered that house, and discovered several BB guns inside.
Two boys, aged 16 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon.
The teen suspects, who were not identified, were later released to their parents.
Aold J. Kleiner, KABC's president and general manager, said in a statement: 'Our crews and reporters are very conscious of good safety practices and take proper precautions when on assignment.'
Mr Kleiner added: 'They could not have anticipated that someone would decide to target them in this way.'
Ms Suter is a general assignment reporter who has been working at the ABC news station since 2003.
