Teen Nathan McMillion Attacked and Murdered by Mob in Warren
Monique McMillon's 17-year-old son was murdered by a mob.
"No one could save my baby. No one could help him. No one could hear his cry," she said. "They didn't only kill my baby. They killed a part of me."
"I'm not going to rest until justice is served," she added.
Nathan was a quiet child. He struggled with ADHD. He was visiting his grandma in Detroit near Eight Mile and Dequindre for the summer.
Friday night, something happened in the nearby park. That's where police found his shoes and his shirt. Nathan was running from his attackers through the park across Eight Mile and was coered in the parking lot of a Burger King in Warren. There they kicked, hit and beat him and took off.
"You beat my baby to death," said McMillon. "Help him. That's what you should've (done). You should've helped him, not take his life."
A good Samaritan did try to help. She got Nathan into her car, but he was unconscious. She called 9-1-1, and he died at the hospital.
McMillon has three other sons, and she hasn't even told her nine-year-old about his brother's death.
"(I've) got to stay strong for his brothers and figure out how to tell his little brother that he'll never see his brother again," she said.
She also has to bury her son, the hardest thing any parent can do.
The family is asking for donations to the Nathan McMillion Memorial Fund at any Bank of America.
"I appreciate whatever, whatever anybody can do for me and my family. If I can't do (anything) else, I just want to give my son a proper burial," McMillion told FOX 2's Amy Lange.
Police say there is surveillance video from a neighboring business that shows the mob chasing after Nathan. They want to release that video soon in hopes of finding the people responsible.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Warren Police right away.
