Juvenile strives to prove innocence

A boy, then 11 years old, convicted of the killings of his father’s fiancée and her unbo child was recently released from juvenile detention, according to the victim’s mother.

Jordan Brown was adjudicated delinquent in 2012 in the shotgun death of Kenzie Houk, who was his father’s fiancée. But the now 18-year-old has been fighting to prove that he is innocent. Brown was released on Monday following a hearing on part of his placement review, which determines whether a juvenile offender has been held responsible for their crimes and has been sufficiently rehabilitated. Brown’s attoey said that “The disposition review hearing went very well and was favorable,” He declined to comment further about the case.

The Pennsylvania Superior Court is currently trying to decide on an appeal filed by Brown’s attoey regarding the judge’s refusal to grant the juvenile a new court trial. So far, there has been no word on when the court will make a decision.
