Teen dies after being impaled on horn of Texas Tech bull statue
A harmless game of hide-and-seek ended tragically when a 14-year-old boy was impaled on the ho of a bull statue on the Texas Tech University campus. Miguel Martinez and his friends were playing on campus around 3 a.m.
Saturday when he ran into the statue, dying at the scene. "He lost his balance and he went straight down on one of the hos," Martinez's mother, Judith Leseburg, said. "No mother expects this to happen to [her] child." Martinez was spending the night with his best friend Jeremy, who stayed with him after the accident. "I put my jacket over him … held him tight and told him I loved him," Jeremy said. "He was like a big brother to me." [Source]
