Sleeping teenage boy set on fire on Oakland bus
POLICE are searching for a man who set a teenage boy on fire on a bus after he fell asleep.
The victim was set on fire around 5.20pm local time after he drifted off on an Oakland, Califoia bus, KTVU reports.
"He was asleep. He woke up and his clothes were on fire,” said Oakland police spokeswoman Johnna Watson.
The teen, who suffered second and third degree bus, was rushed to the bu centre at St Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco.
Passengers on board noticed the boy was on fire and alerted the driver, who stopped the bus and called for help. As he did so, several passengers fled the bus before cops arrived on the scene.
Police say they are reviewing CCTV footage from the bus and are looking for a male suspect.
