Scout Leader Michael Cimmino faces new child assault charges

BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A volunteer scout leader and religious education teacher from Braintree is facing allegations that he sexually assaulted another child, just days after he was arraigned on assault charges in another case.

Prosecutors say 54-year-old Michael Cimmino pleaded not guilty this week to indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.

District attoey spokesman David Traub tells The Patriot Ledger the second alleged victim came forward after Cimmino was arraigned Jan. 3 on charges that included assault with intent to rape a child, kidnapping and eight counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under age 14.

Cimmino pleaded not guilty to those charges as well.

He is still being held on $30,000 bail and has been suspended from his volunteer positions.
