Police: Hooksett Teacher Andrew Lalos Had Sex With Student
HOOKSETT, N.H. -- A Hooksett middle school teacher was arrested on sexual assault charges after he allegedly had a sexual relationship with one of his students in 2005, police said.
Andrew Lalos, a Cawley Middle School music teacher, was charged with three counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault.
Police accused Lalos, 34, of having sex with the victim, who police said was between the ages of 13 and 17 at the time, on Dec. 16, 2005 -- Lalos' 29th birthday. Investigators said Lalos had the girl perform sex acts between Sept. 5 and Dec. 16 at Memorial School and Cawley Middle School.
Investigators said the girl's relationship with Lalos, a husband and father, began through email and Facebook. Police said the alleged sexual relationship was only recently revealed by the girl.
"If the allegation is true, it's absolutely horrific; totally unacceptable," Hooksett School Superintendent Dr. Phil Littlefield said.
Lalos tued himself in to Det. Kristyn Beier of the Portsmouth Police and was bailed out of the Portsmouth District Court. He was scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 3 at Hooksett District Court.
No one answered the door at Lalos' home.
Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact Det. Kristyn Beier or New Hampshire State Trooper Eric Berube.
