Ohio Couple John and Christina Anderson and their son, 7, are killed in horror home break-in and shooting
John Anderson, his wife Christina and their seven-year-old son are killed, but their 12-year-old daughter survives the shooting.

Four people, including a suspect, are dead and a child in critical condition after a family was shot in their Ohio home, according to authorities.

John Anderson, 31, his wife Christina, 30, and son Landon, 7, were killed in their Columbus home on Monday. 

The Anderson's 12-year-old daughter Makyleigh was also shot and has been hospitalized. 

Police identified the suspect as Barry Kirk, 50, and said he knew the family, according to WSYX 6

Three officers shot Kirk, who lived across the street from the family, after he fled the couple's home in the Hilltop neighborhood and ran toward his own house. 

Kirk was taken to a nearby hospital where he died Monday just before 8.30pm. He was struck multiple times.

The 12-year-old girl is listed in critical condition at Nationwide Children's Hospital, according to the Columbus Dispatch

She is expected to make a full recovery.  

Authorities said there was another person inside the home who was not shot.

Columbus Police Department spokesman Sgt. Rich Weiner said authorities do not know a motive for the murders at this time.

Weiner added that there were no other suspects 'on the loose' and that police were confident only one man was involved.

The dispatcher reported hearing other gunshots during the call. 

A neighbor reported hearing at least 20 shots being fired.
