Mystery of Oregon woman Stephanie Warner who vanished on her way home from Fourth of July celebration
An Oregon woman has been missing since the Fourth of July, and stumped investigators hope the public can help track her down.
Stephanie Anne Waer, 43, spent part of the holiday in Ashland before heading north to her home in the unincorporated community of Ruch.
She met with her boyfriend at the Ruch Country Store at about 5pm and nobody has seen her since.
Jackson County Sheriff's deputies found Waer's truck in her driveway along Highway 238. There were no signs of forced entry or foul play in the vehicle or the home.
Relatives who alerted police to the disappearance told officers it's not like Waer to drop out of sight.
‘We don't have a clue as to where she is,’ Sgt. Shawn Richards told the Mail Tribune. ‘That's why we're putting it out there to the public.’
Searchers accompanied by schent hounds and cadaver dogs looked for signs of the missing woman near her property last week, but came up empty-handed.
Final destination: Deputies found Waer's truck in her driveway along Highway 238 in the community of Ruch
Last sighting: Waer was last seen by her boyfriend at the Ruch Country Store
A second set of 16 searchers performed a grid search, walking closely together along various areas in the Applegate Valley. A third search was performed along the Applegate River using a helicopter.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Andrea Carlson said Tuesday that investigators have also checked Waer's bank and phone records.
Waer is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 135lbs with brown eyes and red hair.
