Mystery gunman fires shots at ANOTHER military building - the fifth in two weeks
A mystery shooter opened fire at a Coast Guard recruiting station this moing, the fifth case since last month of unexplained gunfire targeting military-relating buildings in the Washington area.
Prince William County police say they're investigating minor damage at the building in a strip mall in Woodbridge, Virginia.
It's not yet clear if it was linked to the recent string of oveight shootings but authorities say the incident seemed similar.
No one was hurt in the gun fire which was discovered in the early hours of this moing.
'We got a call a little after 7am this moing', said 1st Sgt Kim Chinn, spokeswoman for Prince William County Police.
'Employees of the Coast Guard recruiting station called us to tell us there was some damage to the glass, and police arrived and determined it was probably done by a bullet', she added.
1st Sgt Chinn said the bullet didn't penetrate the glass but left a distinct mark.
Closer look: No one was injured in the shooting and there was minor damage to the glass in the fifth unexplained shooting in the Washington area in the past two weeks
She did not confirm how many bullets were found at the scene but said that the FBI would be taking the lead in the investigation.
She would not be drawn on whether the shooting was related to other recent oveight shootings saying, 'I would say it's relatively similar. We won't know until we get ballistics'.
Two separate shootings took place at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, Virginia last month.
The Pentagon was shot at six times in the early hours of October 19 and shots were fired at a vacant Marine Corps recruiting station in Chantilly, Virginia on October 25.

No one was injured in any of the earlier shootings but the FBI said Friday that it believed one gunman was responsible for those four shootings.
Agents believe someone possibly with a grievance against the U.S. Marine Corps may be responsible.
John Perren, the acting assistant director for the FBI's Washington field office, said investigators believe the person has an issue with the institution of the Marines.
But Mr Perren added that he doesn't believe the perpetrators has a problem with those serving in uniform.
He said the person has made sure no one has been hurt, and authorities don't believe he wants to harm citizens or Marines.
