Middle school teacher Mysti Lingenfelter accused of perfoming sex acts on 14-year-old student

A Califoia middle school teacher has been arrested for allegedly performing sexual acts on a 14-year-old male student.

Mysti Moriah Lingenfelter, 35, of Fair Oakes, tued herself in to police custody on Tuesday to face charges of lewd acts on a child and oral copulation with a person under 16.

According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, Lingenfelter, who is employed as a teacher at Foothill Ranch Middle School, has been under investigation since May.

Detectives say Lingenfelter had carried on an inappropriate relationship with one of her students during the 2011-2012 school year, reported the Sacramento Bee. 

Lingenfelter, who is currently out on $50,000 bail, has been placed on administrative leave. Her arraignment is scheduled to take place on December 15.

At least one of the sexual encounters between Lingenfelter and the 14-year-old boy took place at the middle school and another occurred on a camping trip, according to a criminal complaint.

Tony Tubul,, of the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, told the station KCRA that investigators first leaed of the allegations against the middle school teacher when someone came forward with the information on behalf of the victim.

Lingenfelter, who has two young children of her own (pictured in this Facebook photo), has been on administrative leave since May 

The boy in question no longer attends Foothill Ranch Middle School.

Lingenfelter, who is a single mother of tow young children, was hired by the Twin Rivers Unified School District in 2005.

According to reporting by Sacramento Bee and information found by Daily Mail Online on the site Meetup.com, Lingenfelter also has side business selling aromatic oils.
