Man claims he was shot by police in his own driveway
Smoking almost killed Roy Middleton when he was allegedly fired upon by police as he searched for a loose cigarette in a car parked in his own driveway in Warrington, Fla. Apparently, someone had seen him rooting around in his mother's vehicle and, thinking he was a thief, called the cops. Middleton, 60, said he was bent over in the car when Escambia County deputies told him to "get your hands where I can see them."
Middleton alleges he slowly backed away from the vehicle but police unloaded the moment he tued around. "It was like a firing squad," he told the Pensacola News Joual. "Bullets were flying everywhere." Middleton was shot in the leg and described his mom's car as "full of bullet holes." [Source]
