Kids get towed away when Dad parks illegally, now he's up on charges
"Just a minute" may mean months in jail for one unfortunate dad. Victor Ruiz of Houston pulled into a no-parking zone briefly to run some groceries up to his apartment, leaving his two young daughters in the car.
An eagle-eyed tow truck driver chained up the vehicle, oblivious to the wee ones in the back, and only realized he had human cargo once he was two miles from the scene. But cops were in no mood to laugh the incident off.
Ruiz was charged with two counts of child abandonment and was placed in jail on a $4,000 bond. [Source]
