Irwin Mom Tiffany Jackson Accused Of Leaving 3 Young Children Alone Overnight

IRWIN, Pa. -- An Irwin woman’s three young children are in the custody of their grandmother after police said their mother left them alone two days last month.

Tiffany Jackson left the children, who were 9 years old, 3 years old and 5 months old, alone oveight on Jan. 27 at their Main Street apartment, police said.

Police said the 9-year-old walked to a local Laundromat, where a couple inside called police.

“They handled it very well,” said Irwin Police Chief Joseph Pocsatko. “They contacted 911. They also took care of the children for a little bit. They fed them some snacks."

Neighbor Rick Lindholm told Channel 11 News he saw his neighbor's 9-year-old girl wandering the streets alone many times, so he wasn’t surprised when he heard of the latest incident.

“She always just seemed oblivious to where they were,” said Lindholm.

Police said they’ve been unable to locate Jackson, who will be charged with child endangerment when she’s apprehended.
