Illinois woman Mellissa Estelle arrested for ‘intentionally’ SNEEZING in a court bailiff's face and leaving a 'trail of mucus' on officer
A woman was jailed after she 'intentionally sneezed' in a bailiff's face leaving a 'trail of mucus' in a Will County courtroom.
Mellissa Estelle, 24, from Channahon, Illinois, was jailed on a battery charge, according to Joliet Patch.
Estelle was in court Wednesday moing for a traffic case.
The bailiff had to repeatedly reprimand her for putting her feet on the seats.
Estelle was also speaking loudly while the judge was on the bench.
Officials said Estelle 'got up from her seat, approached the bailiff face to face, within three to four inches'.
She then 'intentionally sneezed' into the bailiff's face'.
The bailiff reportedly told county deputies 'that 'a mucous-type substance' was on her face.
The bailiff also accused Estelle of pushing her in the chest.
Estelle spent about six hours in jail before she was released on $1,000 bond.
She was also arrested in mid-December by IL State Police and booked in to Will County Jail where she faced felony charges of an aggravated DUI.
