Houston Man Isau Aleman Accused Of Dousing Baby With Transmission
HOUSTON -- A man has been accused of attacking a neighbor's 8-month-old girl by dousing her with transmission fluid.
The family said the attack happened about four weeks ago, and since then, the suspect, Isau Aleman Jr., 18, has continued to harass them. A warrant was issued for Aleman on Thursday, but he was not found at his home.
Aleman was charged with injury to a child.
Jayla Diaz's cheeks are still raw from being splashed with the transmission fluid. She was asleep in her car-seat when a 5-gallon bucket of transmission fluid came flying through the front door, family members said.
"I freaked out. I didn't know what to do and I rushed to the sink and started cleaning her," said Angelica Frazier, the baby's grandmother.
Frasier said Aleman came to the house insisting someone had taken his cell phone. She said he got angry when the family tued him away.
Frazier said he is still harassing them.
"How many times has he been back to your house since then?" KPRC Local 2 reporter Phil Archer asked.
"Six more times since then," she said. "And he comes to the back door telling me he's going to shoot me. He's going to kick the door in and kill everybody."
With Aleman still at large, Frazier is not taking any chances. She said she is moving.
"As of two nights ago, he was banging on my door telling me he was going to kill me, so I'm not going to wait. I'm just going to move," Frazier said.
The back of any container of transmission fluid has a waing that says, "Caution: avoid prolonged or repeated skin contact, and keep out of the reach of children."
Aleman has previous arrests for evading arrest and burglarizing a vehicle.
