Hoboken crash: One confirmed dead and 100 injured after train crashes into station wall
AT LEAST one person has died and 100 seriously wounded after a commuter train slammed into a station during rush hour.
Several are still trapped in the wreckage at Hoboken train station, New Jersey, following the horror rush hour smash just before 9am.
One passenger has died and many more are in a critical condition, according to a New Jersey transit spokesman.
Firefighters said there were "mass casualties", with at least 100 hurt.
Eyewitnesses reported that the train did not appear to brake.
John Minko said that the train "simply did not stop" and that "it went right through the barriers and into the reception area."
Survivors reported seeing passengers covered in blood and trapped under train wreckage.

Part of the carriage can be seen lying on its side in the station.
Emergency crews are at the scene and survivors being treated in makeshift medical tents outside the station.
Investigators say they do not believe it is related to terrorism.
Survivor Bhagyesh Shah told NBC how he saw a woman pinned under the concrete and others covered in blood.
He said: "The next thing I know, we are ploughing through the platform.
"It was for a couple seconds, but it felt like an eteity"
Survivor Laura tweeted: "My train just derailed and crashed into the Hoboken train station.
"Luckily all I got was a crack to the head."
Hoboken is seven miles from New York City.
Investigators believe the crash was accidental.
