Georgetown University Student Michelle Konkoly Falls From Dorm Window
WASHINGTON - Authorities say a freshman student has fallen from a tall building on the campus of Georgetown University.
D.C. police say the incident happened about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of 37th and O streets in northwest Washington.
Georgetown spokeswoman Julie Bataille says 18-year-old Michelle Konkoly of Eagleville, Pa., accidentally fell from her fifth floor residence hall room window. Bataille says Konkoly was injured but conscious when emergency workers arrived.
Police say she was admitted to George Washington University Hospital in serious condition.
University officials have been in touch with Konkoly's family.
Konkoly is a member of the National Honor Society and a member of the Georgetown Swimming and Diving team.
