Gainesville Woman Woman gets 10 years in fatal stabbing
Lashawn Levette Littles, 31, was convicted in December of manslaughter, battery and tampering with evidence in the June 2009 death of Wesley Davis, 48.
Gainesville Police said the incident happened in the 500 block of Northeast Ninth Street when an argument between Littles and Davis escalated into physical contact between the two. During interviews with police and while testifying at her trial, Littles maintained that the stabbing was both accidental and in self-defense.
Assistant State Attoey Omar Hechavarria said that in addition to the prison sentence, Littles was sentenced to serve five years of probation once she is released from prison.
