Former Fort Collins Club Owner John Trujillo Charged In Teen Sex Assault
FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- A former Fort Collins music club-pizzeria owner has been arrested on charges of sexual assault on a child and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, authorities said Wednesday.
John Herman Trujillo, 44, was arrested Tuesday, said Larimer County sheriff's spokeswoman Kathy Messick. He was held in the Larimer County Detention Center with bond set at $100,000.
Trujillo was charged with misdemeanor sexual assault with a 10-year age difference, she said. The charge indicates the victim was a 15- or 16-year-old, according to state law.
Trujillo also was charged with two felony counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one felony count of attempted contributing to the delinquency of a minor, Messick said.
Investigators said the crimes occurred on July 19, 2007, according to court records.
Until a year ago, Trujillo owned the Surfside 7 Cafe, a pizzeria, bar and music venue in Old Town Fort Collins, said the new owner.
Trujillo has prior arrests for driving under the influence and trespassing and two convictions for driving with a suspended license, court records said.
