PONTIAC, Mich. (WJBK) - Her Facebook feud with another woman spilled over into real life. A 23-year-old Pontiac woman admits her actions caused a deadly car crash. It was an emotional scene Wednesday in Oakland County Court as that young woman was sentenced. However, her family believes she was bullied into taking the plea because of her race.

"I don't know what to say to you. I come to court and I look at you, and I want to just run over there and do what you did to my daughter," said Angel Abeathy, the victim's mother.

The mother of Alesha Abeathy, the innocent victim of a deadly car crash back in July, poured her heart out in front of the judge and the woman who caused it all.

23-year-old Torrie Emery was chasing the car at 90 miles-per-hour because of a fight she was having on Facebook with 20-year-old Danielle Booth, who was also in the car.

"There were two beautiful girls and all over some man in prison," Abeathy said. "Was it worth it?"

Booth suffered life altering injuries.

Emery had her three-year-old daughter with her during the chase. She pled no contest to second-degree murder, assault and child abuse. Her daughter is now in foster care.

Emery said the following to the victim's family members, who packed the courtroom.

"I'm sorry I took somebody's life, and I pray every day that you'll ever forgive me," she said.

However, after that tearful apology, Emery's mother said the sentence was much too severe. She claimed her daughter was bullied into taking the plea because of her race.

"He asked her what color was she. She said, 'I'm black.' He said, 'Well, what color was the victim.' She said, 'White.' He said, 'Well, you (don't have) a chance on winning in Oakland County,'" said Tracy Emery.

She accused the judge, the prosecutor and her daughter's court appointed attoey of railroading her, and said she will urge her daughter to appeal.

Emery was sentenced to 18 to 60 years in prison.
