Ex-Cop Donald Warfield Charged In Flasher Case

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. -- A former Baltimore County police officer was arrested after a woman accused him of flashing her in front of a local school.

The suspect is identified as 48-year-old Donald Warfield.

The incident happened at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday in front of Ridgely Middle School, police said.

Investigators said the woman was walking her dog on Lynncrest Road when she spotted a silver minivan parked near the curb and a man dressed in a business suit inside.

According to a police report, the woman said she thought the man needed directions.

Instead, officers said he "exposed his unclothed thighs and genitals" to her.

Detectives said the woman told them the man was masturbating and "smirked, and made no effort to rush away."

Investigators said they eventually traced the minivan's license plate to Sol Levinson Funeral Services.

According to police, managers identified the employee in the van as Warfield.

Police said Warfield was out doing official business for the funeral home at the time of the alleged flashing.

Investigators said Warfield is a former Baltimore County police officer and that it isn't the first time he's been accused in an indecent exposure case.

Warfield was charged with indecent exposure in Glen Rock, Pa., while he worked for the Baltimore County Police Department in 1996, officials said.

E-mails have circulated among neighbors explaining what happened.

Neighbors said they are shocked and disgusted but are relieved that Warfield was arrested.

Warfield is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on a $30,000 bond.
