They’re no El Chapo, but we’d give these fugitives 10/10 for effort.

Two men on the run from police officers thought it would be a good idea to flee down a canyon and into the forest in northe Califoia.

But because it’s winter, the very real possibility of freezing to death overcame their desire for freedom.

Triston Crossland, 30, and Derrick Dionno, 32, ended up having to call 911 on themselves because it was so cold.

‘You will never see two men so happy to go to a warm, dry jail cell,’ El Dorado County sheriff’s officials said.

Unsurprisingly, having spent more than 12 hours in the freezing cold, both men suffered severe hypothermia and probable frostbite.

They were treated at a local hospital before being tued over to the police.
