Enraged girlfriend tried to carve tattoo from lover's neck during dispute

A woman in Nebraska who allegedly tried to cut off a tattoo of her name from her boyfriend's neck has been arrested for domestic violence.

Tressa Amerson, 19, was jailed on Friday night following an altercation with Ronald Miner, 30, at his home in Lincoln.

A police report said Miner suffered 'minor scratches' during the incident where Amerson wielded a knife at her lover to try and cut out the tattoo.

Miner told officers that he and Amerson 'had been having ongoing relationship problems for the past week'.

He said the incident was triggered when Amerson became upset because 'she believed he broke her car'.

Miner said Amerson then 'grabbed a knife and attempted to carve the tattoo of her name off of his neck'.

An officer reported that Miner had the name 'Tressa' inked on the left side of  his neck. He said he saw two scratch marks that ran across the tattoo.

Miner is not a stranger to brushes either and was arrested last month for an outstanding bench warrant.

Amerson denied assaulting Miner when questioned by police saying that she had 'been sleeping all day'.

Police found a small paring knife on the living room floor and saying 'this was believed to be the knife used'.

Amerson was booked into the Lancastar County jail where she stayed over the weekend and is expected to attend a court hearing scheduled for this afteoon.

Miner told authorities that he got the 2" x 2" Tressa tattoo in late July and had been dating Amerson for about a year.

When asked if he considered Amerson to be his girlfriend, Miner apparently replied: 'Kinda, sorta, not really', before adding, 'She's pretty crazy'.
