Detroit: Public Asked To Help Find Lonniece Williams's Killer
DETROIT -- Family members of a Detroit woman who was shot dead in front of her boyfriend and daughter last year made a plea Wednesday to the public for help in finding her killer.
On Sept. 2, 2010, Lonniece Williams was in her car on the 2700 block of Carson Street when shots were fired at the car. The 25-year-old's boyfriend and 1-year-old daughter were not hit.
During a news conference, Williams' father, Lonnie Williams, spoke about losing his eldest daughter.
"Every time your child leaves your sight, tell your child you love them," he said. "You never know if they are coming back. I am so hurt that I didn't get a chance to tell my baby goodbye."
Williams' mother, Aell Ford, asked for anyone with information to come forward.
"If anybody has any, any answers, just please come forward and tell us. We just really need to know," she said. "I just need some closure."
Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,500 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case.
Crime Stoppers can be reached at 800-SPEAKUP.
