Catfish barb almost kills kid while mom takes photo
An afteoon fishing trip almost tued tragic when an Arkansas boy's mom asked him to take a goofy picture with a just-caught catfish. "I wanted to give him a kiss and the fish flopped around and it just smacked him on the neck," Melissa Menchaca told KATV, a TV station in Arkansas.
Terrifyingly, one of the sharp barbs from the catfish's fins punctured an artery in 13-year-old Aiden's neck. Melissa called 911, carefully holding the fish still until the paramedics arrived and cut the fin loose. Aiden was airlifted to a hospital, where doctors told him that the barb was only centimeters from a main artery. Aiden said he's leaed "not to mess around with fish." That goes for you too, Mom.
