Boston Man Peter Chamberlin Convicted Of Shooting Insurance Agent

FALL RIVER, Mass. -- A Boston man has been convicted of shooting the owner of a Fall River insurance agency during a robbery.

Peter Chamberlin was convicted Monday of charges including attempted murder.

Prosecutors said Chamberlin was one of three men who burst into the Alberto Insurance and Real Estate Agency in September 2007 and demanded what they thought was a large sum of money from a vault. Authorities say the men beat Antonio Alberto, shot him in the head and made off with just $40.

Alberto, with his ankles and wrists bound, and with duct tape over his eyes, crawled up the stairs and called 911 using his nose.

The Herald News reported that Chamberlin's lawyer said there was a lack of evidence tying Chamberlin to the scene.

Scheduling is next week.
